Mirror, Mirage: Meet Ianna Preview

10/2/2026

Preview Summary: After a confrontation at her aunt’s house sends seventeen-year-old Ianna Mason running into the night, she makes a choice: she will find a way to endure until she can leave for good. Six months later, that survival plan depends on careful routines, strategic absences, and a practiced smile no one is meant to question. But when a Social Services visit brings her back to the foster home she avoids, Ianna must once again perform the version of herself everyone expects to see.

Content Disclosures: Emotional and verbal abuse of a teenager in foster care; rough physical handling by a caregiver; reference to unwanted physical contact and subsequent victim-blaming; intense emotional distress and dissociation-like symptoms; running away and spending the night alone outdoors; foster-care instability; and strong language.
