The Stories Are Freely Available. They Are Not Public Domain.

Stories, chapters, previews, excerpts, characters, worldbuilding, written site content, and other original creative material by Elara Emberly remain protected by copyright even when they are made freely available to read.

Making a work available without a paywall does not transfer ownership of the work or grant unrestricted permission to copy, republish, redistribute, adapt, sell, or otherwise reuse it.

Unless otherwise stated, all original written material on this site is © Elara Emberly. All rights are reserved except for the limited permissions described in these Terms and rights provided by applicable law.

Reading, Listening, and Sharing Links

You are welcome to read the stories for personal use, listen to available audiobook material, explore the Archive, and share links that direct other people to the original pages on elaraemberly.com.

You may also discuss, review, critique, or briefly quote the work where permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to restrict rights that the law independently provides, including fair use.

Reproduction and Redistribution

Unless you have permission from Elara Emberly or applicable law independently permits the use, you may not reproduce, republish, upload, distribute, sell, commercially exploit, or make substantial portions of the stories or other original site content available somewhere else.

You may not present Elara Emberly's work as your own or remove authorship or copyright information in order to misrepresent its source.

The fact that a story can be read without payment does not grant permission to host or distribute copies elsewhere.

Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining, and Automated Extraction

No permission or license is granted to use original Elara Emberly fiction or other original site content for artificial-intelligence or machine-learning training, fine-tuning, evaluation, benchmarking, dataset creation, or similar model-development purposes.

You may not use automated systems to scrape, harvest, bulk-extract, compile, or reproduce the site's original creative content for those purposes without prior permission.

Reader Feedback and Messages

You are welcome to send messages through the contact form and to submit story-related feedback through Archive feedback forms.

You retain any rights you may have in original material you submit. By submitting a message or reader response, you give Elara Emberly permission to receive, store, review, and use it for the purpose for which it was provided, including responding to communications, understanding reader reactions, and improving or developing the Archive and related creative work.

Submitting reader feedback does not give Elara Emberly permission to publicly quote or publish that feedback. Separate permission will be requested before reader feedback is used publicly as a quotation or testimonial.

Please do not submit confidential, highly sensitive, unlawful, abusive, or infringing material through website forms or via email.

Third-Party Content and Services

For example, audiobook players for The Storm by the Shore are provided through YouTube, and The Emberlyght Guild is hosted through Substack. Those platforms have their own terms, privacy practices, and technical requirements.
