The Storm by the Shore: Chapter 9

In the aftermath of Thanksgiving, Brynn finally lets someone else see how much she’s been carrying. Finn, meanwhile, finds himself confronting a question he’s spent years avoiding. When they meet again on Finn’s birthday, their path leads them back to the same stretch of shore where everything began. But this time, they aren’t strangers. Faced with the possibility of becoming something neither of them knows how to define, Brynn and Finn have one final question to answer: what does being together mean when they’re allowed to decide for themselves? This chapter includes themes of emotional distress, parental neglect and dysfunctional family relationships, discussions of intimacy and romantic relationships, and anxiety surrounding vulnerability and commitment.
